1. Great lakes Recreational Boating Economic Study
The Great Lakes Commission is seeking proposals to enhance and build upon
the Great Lakes Recreational Boating Economic Benefits Study currently being conducted
by the Commission for the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers. Eligible applicants may include,
but are not limited to, consultant organizations, colleges and universities, research and
development agencies, and trade and not-for-profit organizations. A contract or contracts
will be awarded on a competitive basis using criteria identified below. The deadline for
submitting proposals is 5:00 p.m. (EDT) August 23, 2004. Work on this project will be
conducted between September 2004 and May 2005. Approximately $150,000 will be available,
in total, through one or more contracts, to address study tasks.
Proposals must be submitted to the Great Lakes Commission by 5:00 p.m.
(EDT) on August 23, 2004.

2. National Boating Safety Activities: Funding for National
Nonprofit PublicService Organizations
The U.S. Coast Guard seeks applications for fiscal year 2004 grants
and cooperative agreements from national, nongovernmental, nonprofit,
public service organizations. These grants and cooperative agreements
would be used to fund projects on various subjects promoting recreational
boating safety on the national level. This notice provides information about
the grant and cooperative agreement application process and some of the subjects
of particular interest to the U.S. Coast Guard.
